タイトルの「たまずさ（玉梓）」は手紙や消息をあらわす古語。大切な友人が営むウェブ雑貨店が発信していたオウンドメディアに書き下ろしたいくつかの文章を、ここに転載する。（※ウェブサイトは2025年にclose）友人が一つ一つ吟味してオンラインで販売していたのは、岡山県の風土の中で生まれた手仕事の品々だった。作品と言えるそれらに、そのもの以上の言葉など、本当は必要なかったのかもしれない。そう思いながらただ、そのものの存在へのラブレターのつもりで、私は記事を書いた。2022年、新型コロナウイルス感染症が五類感染症に移行する前の年の、春から秋にかけての記録とも言える。
「吹きガラスの酒器セットのための詩」2022年4月
花吹雪で桜を見送ると、
倉敷市玉島に新酒まつりの看板が立つのです
老若男女が明るく酔い集うあの祭りが、
毎年当たり前に行われていたことを
本当は得がたいことだったのだと、かみしめています
お酒の仕込み水は、高梁川の伏流水。
鳥取県との境に近い源流から岡山県を縦断して111km、
瀬戸内海へと注ぐ川の河口に、玉島という町はあります
水がいつも流れています。
町の中を、いつも流れています
とどまらずに、いつも
光にかざすと、
この小さな杯の中に
川のせせらぎが見えるようです
山の奥で、水が湧き出るところに
立っている気さえします
澱みないそのすべてを、
ひと息に飲み干してみたいです
今年、祭りの看板は立たなかったけれど、
目の前の水面には、
新緑がきらきらと輝いています

As we bid farewell to the cherry blossoms in a flurry of petals,
a sign rises in Tamashima, Kurashiki—announcing the New Sake Festival.
Beneath white sunshades,
men and women, young and old, gather in cheerful intoxication.
That festival, held each year as if it were a given,
was truly a rare and precious thing—we savor that truth now.
The brewing water for the sake comes from the subterranean flow of the Takahashi River.
From its source near the border of Tottori Prefecture,
it runs 111 kilometers through Okayama,
emptying into the Seto Inland Sea—where the town of Tamashima rests at its mouth.
Water is always flowing.
Through the town, it flows—
never pausing, always moving.
Through the clear glass chalice, held to the sun,
the stream’s murmur shimmers into view.
It feels as though I’m standing deep in the mountains,
where the water springs forth.
I want to drink it all in—
that clear, unclouded essence—in a single breath.
This year, no festival sign was raised.
But before my eyes,
the water’s surface sparkles with fresh green light.
